After graduating from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a BFA in Painting and Drawing, I was hired by Leo Burnett Advertising Chicago as an Art Director to create commercials for kid's McDonalds.
After a several year stint at Leo Burnett, I went on to join the art department of Gibson Greetings in Cincinnati, Ohio.
It was at Gibson Greetings that I was able to nurture my love of illustration and to develop my skills to the professional level.
I have been a freelance illustrator for 20 years designing greeting cards for Hallmark Cards and American Greetings to name a few. I have also illustrated numerous picturebooks as well as educational and chapter books.
I was honored to be asked by Target to develop two product lines for licensing through CR Gibson. One of which was primarily for young girls and included gift wrap, gift bags, journals, designed boxes, etc. and was featured on its own end cap. The other line, which ran simultaneously, was featured in the "Back to School" department and included notebooks, journals, pencils, lunch boxes and pencil holders and more.
I have Illustrated for magazines such as American Girl and Teen Magazine where I had monthly illustrations, as well as illustrating for Highlights and Better Homes and Gardens and others.
Also, I developed and illustrated a four print ad national advertising campaign for Midol.
